Clarion University Theatre Department will present “Nothing is Left to Tell” at 8 p.m. March 5-8 and at 2 p.m. March 9 in Marwick-Boyd Little Theatre.
“Nothing is Left to Tell” compiles four short plays by the notable Irish playwright Samuel Beckett. “None of the plays, “Come and Go,” “Rockaby,” “Ohio Impromptu” and “Not I,” takes longer than 15 minutes to perform.”
Each play centers on an image: three women seated on a bench, an old woman in a rocking chair, two men seated at a large table, and a talking mouth, eight feet in the air.
While the stories may be short, each will still provide plenty of content. As director Robert Bullington said, “The plays are like very rich food. Sometimes a small portion is all you need,” said Robert Bullington, theatre professor and director of the play. “There is plenty to think about, trust me.”
After each performance, the actors and designers invite audience members to stay to discuss the show and ask questions.
The cast of “Nothing is Left to Tell” includes: Gabrielle Kashner, Columbia, as Vi; Kiah Harrington-Wymer, Brookville, as Ru; Caitlin Webster, Plum, as Flo; Becca Sears, Damascus, Md., as Woman and Voice; Hayley Bowders, Waynesboro, as Mouth; Brittany Tague, Verona, as Auditor; Christian Ryan, Lansdale, as Reader; and Logan Honsaker, Twinsburg, Ohio. Understudies for show include: Colleen Scheerbaum, Natrona Heights; Maria Fazio, McKees Rocks; and Andrew Stalder, Warren.
The creative team of the production includes: Hank Bullington, Clarion, scenery; Megan Bodish, Fombell, lighting; David Matthews, Clarion, sound; Myra Bullington, theatre instructor, costumes; John Dobson, Mercer, stage manager; Cierra Southerton, Honesdale, assistant stage manager; and Chloe Saccol, Johnstown, dramaturge.
