Come Together Clarion returns with more fun for the whole family

April 21, 2014

The annual “Come Together Clarion” event, which is scheduled for April 26, is an opportunity for everyone to show their love for Clarion and celebrate the relationships that are made possible as a result of university and community interaction.

The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on 6th Avenue between Main and Wood Streets. The event includes a day full of family-friendly fun hosted by various university and community groups.

The event begins with the Parent-Child 5k for 5 Causes race sponsored by the brothers of Sigma Phi Epsilon. The race is open to all ages and requires a $20 entry fee that will be donated to Big Brothers Big Sisters, Clarion County YMCA, Clarion University Relay for Life, National Multiple Sclerosis Society - Northwest PA Chapter, and Northwest Pennsylvania Rural AIDS Alliance. To pre-register, go to www.sigepatclarion.weebly.com.

In the tradition of past events, throughout the day participants are encouraged to leave their mark on the community quilt, compete in the family Olympics and enjoy activities such as inflatable houses and crafts. At the closing of the day, deserving individuals will be recognized for their commitment to the community with the Neighborhood Star Awards.

New this year, the Youth Council invites all Clarion County school districts to perform, host an activity table and submit an art project.

Come Together Clarion is organized each year by the Center for Leadership and Involvement. For more information, go to https://www.clarion.edu/314207.
