Clarion University invites high school sophomores, juniors and seniors, as well as transfer students, to attend the Spring Open House April 26. Students unable to attend the open house are invited to schedule a preview day or individual session.

Clarion University invites high school sophomores, juniors and seniors, as well as transfer students, to attend the Spring Open House April 26. Students unable to attend the open house are invited to schedule a preview day or individual session.

The open house will help students gather information by engaging in informative presentations and activities with current Clarion University students, faculty, deans and admissions staff. Admissions staff will assist students in discovering the type of college that is the best fit for them, addressing everything from academic programs to support services to financial aid.

The schedule for the day is:

  • 9:15 to 9:30 a.m. – Check-in at Gemmell Student Complex.

  • 9:15 to 9:55 a.m. – Student Life and Learning Fair, Gemmell Student Union: Speak with current students to learn more about Clarion’s academic programs, academic organizations, student life, study abroad, research activities, athletics and more.

  • 10 a.m. – Welcome by Dr. Karen Whitney, Clarion University president, Gemmell multi-purpose room.

  • 10:15 a.m. – Admissions information and overview of agenda.

  • 10:30 a.m. – Academic and student life opportunities:

    • Session I, 10:35 to 11 a.m. – “Where Will I Live, Where Will I Eat, What Will I Do?” Gemmell multi-purpose room.

    • Session II, 11:05 to 11:30 a.m. – Explore academic programs:

      • College of Arts and Sciences, Gemmell multi-purpose room and related academic buildings;

      • College of Business Administration, Still Hall;

      • College of Education and Human Services, Gemmell 250/252;

      • Division of Student Affairs (athletic training, sports management, etc.), Tippin Gymnasium;

      • Exploratory (undecided), Gemmell 248;

      • Department of nursing (BSN program), Gemmell 246.

      • 11:45 a.m. – Tour of campus (tours typically last 90 minutes).

      • 11:45 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. – Brunch at Eagle Commons dining facility, compliments of admissions; tickets available at check-in.

      • 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. – Families are encouraged to visit Reinhard Villages, the university’s apartment-style housing near campus; tours are available every 30 minutes.
