Assistantships

work as a ga!Graduate Assistants are employed in the Department of Mass Media Arts and Journalism in such areas as:

bull5.gif (884 bytes)   television direction
bull5.gif (884 bytes)   photography production
bull5.gif (884 bytes)   journalism
bull5.gif (884 bytes)   web page publishing and management

Full and part-time graduate assistantships are available. Students who receive a part-time assistant work 10 hours a week and receive a  half-tuition waiver and a small stipend Students who receive a full-time assistantship work 20 hours a week  and receive a full-tuition waiver and a small stipend. 

Assistantships run from September to May.

A number of assistantships are available to outstanding international students.

If you are interested in a graduate assistantship, you should complete the regular admission procedure, then file a letter of application with the chair of the Department of Communication. Applications should be received no later than March 15. Graduate assistantships are usually announced by May 15 of each year.
