The major objective of graduate study in the College of Business Administration is to provide those enrolled with the opportunity to develop a basic core of knowledge concerning the theory, techniques, and practices of administering business activities. In addition to studying the basic core of knowledge, candidates for the M.B.A. degree have the opportunity for in-depth study in a particular area of interest.
All students must take a course in organizational structure and behavior, quantitative analysis for business decisions, management accounting, managerial economics, financial management, production management, marketing decision making, and a capstone course in business policy. The remaining 9 credits in the program are elective, permitting the student to design the program to particular objectives with the approval of the MBA Director. The normal length of study for students attending full-time is two
years. An accelerated three-semester program without summer study is
also available. Students can also enroll in the program on a part-time
basis. Students pursuing the M.B.A. degree may enroll in the professional
accountancy course of study. The sequence of 36 semester hours of graduate
course work is designed to prepare students for entry into the practice
of professional accountancy as prescribed by the American Institute of
Certified Public Accountants.
