Part-time Temporary Teaching Positions

The Department of Library Science is currently accepting applications for part-time temporary teaching positions in its various degree programs, including its ALA-accredited master's degree program. Successful applicants will be expected to teach one or more of the courses described in the department's undergraduate and graduate course offerings listed on its Web site at www.clarion.edu/libsci. In addition to programs on the Clarion campus, the Department of Library Science provides graduate course work in both Harrisburg, PA and Canonsburg, PA (in suburban Pittsburgh). Successful applicants may be required to teach at these distance sites (either in person or via interactive video) as well as in the department's growing Web-based curriculum.

Minimum qualifications include (1) an ALA-accredited master's degree (or foreign equivalent) and (2) professional library and/or teaching experience.

Applicants must submit:

• a letter of application explaining qualifications and teaching interests;
• a current vita;
• three current letters of reference which specifically address the applicant's professional qualifications (letters should be sent directly to the department by the person providing the reference); and
• transcripts of all college coursework (photocopies of transcripts may be submitted with the vita and letter of interest; however, official transcripts will need to be received before an applicant can be hired).
