Welcome to the

The American Library Association Student Chapter was established in 1992 and formally recognized by the Student Senate in 1993. It provides both undergraduate and graduate students with opportunities for professional education and service beyond those provided by coursework. Chapter activities include round-table discussions, field trips, participation in community projects, and sponsorship of colloquium speakers.

Members can log on to Blackboard using their normal username and password to access chapter materials and communicate with fellow members. Once you are logged in, click the "Organizations" tab and choose "American Library Association Student Chapter." You can see the latest chapter news on Announcements, view minutes from past meetings on Documents, or weigh in on chapter issues or talk with off-campus members on Communications.

Nominations and elections are held at the beginning of each academic year. Members also form committees to manage fundraising, programming, and special projects.

The chapter organizes and participates in a number of educational, service, fundraising, and recreational activities throughout the year. Members are encouraged to submit ideas!
