Services for International
Students The Office of the International
Programs (OIP) provides a full range of support services for
international students. A week-long orientation program for
new students held before the start of the fall semester makes
adjustment to university life in the United States much
easier. Academic advisement and course registration also take
place at this time. The OIP handles all matters dealing with
immigration counseling, employment requests, foreign exchange,
and cultural adjustment. Internationals at Clarion are urged
to become members of the Clarion International Association.
Through its many activities, this student group coming from
more than 42 countries of the world, helps to build a friendly
environment for international students at Clarion and promotes
good will and understanding among peoples and cultures.
Financial
Assistance International Assistantship awards,
in the form of tuition reductions valued at $3,000 per
academic year, are available for international students who
qualify. Awards are based on need and merit and may be renewed
each year providing student meets established criteria.
Recipients of Graduate Assistantships are ineligible for
International Assistantship awards.
