Class Excuse Policy

Excuses from class are written at the sole discretion of the health center staff, but it is at the discretion of each individual professor to excuse the student from class.  

Each student seen at the Keeling Health Center is provided a written summary of their visit, a "super-bill" including the date and time. The physician or nurse practitioner, may, at their discretion, write a more definitive excuse based on their assessment of the student.

A student must have been seen and/or have been assessed by  Keeling Health Center staff in order for the Keeling Health Center to provide any form of excuse

If/when a professor, or any other person contacts the health center asking for an excuse/reason the student was absent from class/work/etc., a consent to release such information must be obtained from the student before such information will be provided. Whether or not such information is released is at the discretion of the student.
