Emergency Contraception
The Keeling Health Center offers Plan B, which is a form of emergency contraception that can be used up to 72 hours after unprotected intercourse. It is imperative to call the health center as soon as possible after unprotected intercourse to initiate the treatment.
Plan B is a safe alternative to an unwanted pregnancy. Plan B is NOT a form of abortion. It is a progesterone only pill, the same medication used in birth control pills but in a different dosing regime.
Plan B should not be used as a form
of birth control, but in emergencies only.
