New technologies are introduced to in business, industry, medicine and government on a daily basis. Of course, advancements have led to new problems and larger obstacles. So, who do businesses hire to solve these problems? Mathematicians… that's who!

While other colleges are teaching industrial mathematics to masters-level students, Clarion is teaching it to undergrads… giving you a huge jump on other students.

What You'll Learn…

  • Industrial Mathematics includes various types of computer-based modeling programs. In Clarion's program, you will be exposed to:
  • Numerical Simulation and Mathematical Modeling
  • Numerical Continuum Mechanics and Fluid Dynamics
  • Inverse Problems
  • Systems- and Parameter Identification
  • Optimal Process Control
  • Structural Optimization

But learning it is just half the fun… putting it all together is the other half.

What You'll Do…

A recent study shows there is growing interaction between mathematics and the sciences. Industrial Mathematics allows you to develop and hone your skills both as a mathematician and as a scientist. In Clarion's program, you will:
  • Observe problems
  • Establish experiments
  • Theorize
  • Create models
  • Be able to relate those models and solutions to industry representatives

Your studies, guided by your work in these areas, will allow you to establish the tools you need to be an industrial mathematician.

Clarion's new program in Industrial Mathematics is an evolution of the classical definition of applied mathematics. Under this new program, you will see mathematics in a new light, be able to solve the problems of business and industry, and guide the growth and direction of the new technologies.
