Andrea Fleisher (M.Ed., MA; Manager, Pittsburgh Site)
Andrea Fleisher is the Manager of the Clarion University Pittsburgh Site at West Penn Hospital School of Nursing. Ms. Fleisher comes to Clarion with more than 12 years experience working in the administrative/student services field of higher education. Prior to coming to Clarion, she worked in the Division of Student Affairs at West Virginia University as Assistant Director of the Career Services Center, where she developed and managed a Satellite office at the WVU College of Engineering and Mineral Resources. Ms. Fleisher also has worked for the Community and Technical College at Fairmont State College in Fairmont, WV where she was responsible for providing supplemental services to special population/returning students. Earning an MA in Counseling from West Virginia University in 1995, Ms. Fleisher has a Bachelor’s degree in Education from California University of PA and received an M.Ed in Education from WVU.

 
Barbara Peterson (Secretary)
Barbara Peterson has been employed with Clarion University for 3.5 years. During that time, she has served as Clarion University's Pittsburgh Site Secretary. Ms. Peterson’s background includes working for 5 years as a Senior Pharmacy Technician at St. Francis Hospital. Continuing her education in the medical field, she graduated from Sawyer School with a degree in Medical Assistance, where she learned both the reception and clinical areas of a medical office. Ms. Peterson came to be employed at Clarion University Pittsburgh Site after working as a Medical Secretary for West Penn Hospital for 4 years in the Department of Reproductive Genetics.

 

Debbie Ciesielka (MSN, CRNP, Assistant Professor of Nursing in BSN and MSN Programs; MSN/BSN Advisor)

Dr. Ciesielka is an Associate Professor and Program Coordinator for the joint Clarion, Edinboro, and Slippery Rock Universities MSN Program. She graduated from Indiana University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Natural Sciences in 1977 and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing in 1979, and a Doctorate in Education in 2005. She is also a 1984 graduate from the University of Pittsburgh with a Master's Degree in Adult Primary Health Care Nursing. In addition to teaching duties at Clarion University, she maintains a clinical practice at an inner city ambulatory care clinic. Her special interests are ENT, allergy, and asthma, online teaching, and the history of nursing.

 
Linda Pritchett (PhD, RN, Associate Professor of Nursing in the BSN Program; BSN Program Coordinator/Advisor)
Dr. Pritchett received her nursing diploma from the University Hospital School of Nursing in Augusta, GA, her BSN and MSN in Nursing Administration from the Medical College of Georgia, also in Augusta, GA. She received her Ph.D. in Adult Health with an emphasis in Gerontological Nursing from the University of Texas. She spent 14 years in staff nurse and supervisory positions. She has been teaching in a university setting since 1977. She has taught the graduate theory and research courses and has been a research advisor for students' theses and research projects. She is currently an Associate Professor at Clarion University. Her research interests are chronic health problems, especially issues related to adherence to therapeutic regimens, and issues related to gerontological nursing.
 
Judith Sparlin (M.Ed.,  Assistant Professor of Biology in the Allied Health, BSN and MSN Programs; Allied Health Advisor)
Ms. Sparlin is currently an Assistant Professor of Biology. She completed her undergraduate degree and graduate work at Slippery Rock University and has continued post-Masters studies at LaRoche College and the University of Cincinnati. In 1988, she began teaching for Clarion University at the Pittsburgh site. As well as Anatomy and Physiology, she now teaches undergraduate Pathophysiology and Human Genetics as well as Advanced Concepts in Pathophysiology for the Family Nurse Practitioner Program.
