A LIST OF COMPLETED COHORT PROGRAMS
The Department of Library Science continues its efforts to address the growing shortage of librarians throughout the commonwealth and the nation by offering its accredited Master of Science in Library Science (M.S.L.S.) program via the World Wide Web. This program is fully accredited by the American Library Association, the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education, and the Pennsylvania Department of Education. This is a cohort program, meaning that students admitted to a particular cohort must take all courses in the specified sequence. Each cohort will have a specific focus, and all courses will be offered via the World Wide Web. A new Rural and Small Libraries cohort will begin in the Spring of 2008. An additional cohort will be determined in the near future and included on this site. Updated 14 November, 2006.
Enrollment in courses in the department's Web-based program is restricted to individuals who have been admitted to graduate studies at Clarion University as part of the Web-based M.S.L.S. program and who are in good academic standing.
Each cohort will have a maximum of twenty-five students per section. The number of sections will be determined by demand and department resources.
Current tuition and fees can be found on the Admissions home page. See a Detailed View of Tuition and Fees by Credit - Click Here
Registration and Payment of Tuition and Fees
Students will be enrolled in courses by the department. Once registered, students will have a Clarion student e-mail address and access to Web for Students. The university will bill students directly. Deferred payment may be possible for students whose employer is paying all or part of the tuition, or by special arrangement with Student Accounts. Students desiring a deferment should contact the university's Student Accounts office at 814-393-2253 as soon as possible. Students with loans or third-party billing will have tuition and fees deducted from their loan or third-party check. . Updated 25 September, 2006
