Center for Accounting Education and Research

The Center for Accounting Education and Research at Clarion University of Pennsylvania began in the early 1980s.  Its purpose is to provide a forum for accounting professionals to focus on topics such as accounting problems, techniques, and standards.

An important goal in continuing education is to organize and make available to members of the community the vast resources of instructional talent that is abundant within the local and surrounding area.

Goal
The mission of the Clarion University Center for Accounting Education and Research is to provide an opportunity for accountants, CPAs and businesspeople in Pennsylvania to attend conferences which meet the requirements for continued professional education (CPE) set forth by the State of Pennsylvania, The American Institute of Certified Pubic Accountants, and the Institute of Management Accountants.  The Center's conferences are designed to be beneficial, informative, affordable, and interesting.  The Center also supports and takes active roles to pursue and advance research.

Seminars

The Center traditionally organizes and holds at least four seminars or conferences per year.  Many of the meetings are held locally, for the convenience of its attendees, in comfortable hotel conference rooms.  The Center educates accountants on a wide variety of topics ranging from accounting and auditing, computer usage in accounting, current accounting pronouncements, and the annual Changes in Federal and State Income Tax Law seminar.  The Center has sponsored over 40 seminars since its inception.  Scheduled upcoming seminars and a sampling of previous seminars are presented below.
