Pitchers & Catchers Camp
June 23-25
Ages:
10-12, 9 a.m.-11:30 a.m.
13-17, 12:30 p.m.-3 p.m.
Cost: $100 

  • Experience three days of intensive conditioning and fundamentals for pitchers and catchers.

  • Pitchers receive training in basic and advanced pitching and fielding.

  • Catchers receive training in framing pitches, blocking pitches, blocking the plate, calling the game, and fielding.

  • Pitching and catching camp will be held at the university field.

  • When possible, pitchers should supply their own catchers.

  • Team discounts available for at least five campers per school
    or team ($10 off per camper)

 

    


Hitters & Fielders Camp
June 30-July 2
Ages:
10-12, 9 a.m.-11:30 a.m.
13-18, 12:30 p.m.-3 p.m.
Cost: $100 

  • Participants receive training in the short game, bunting, slapping, and the power game.

  • Participants receive fundamental training in basic and advanced training in all positions.

  • Hitting and fielding camp will be held at the Clarion Little League fields.

  • Clarion Hospital is located within three miles of campus.

  • Registration at Tippin Gymnasium

  • A list of personal items will be sent upon receipt of the deposit and application.

Codes of Conduct
Players are expected to abide by the camp rules including lights out,
visitors, and drug and alcohol policies.

Sessions
are conducted at
Clarion University of Pennsylvania,
in Clarion, Pa., just two miles off
Interstate 80, Exit 64, in
Northwestern Pennsylvania.

 


Camp Staff
 

Director Nancy Jo Smoose is in her second year as head coach of the Clarion University softball team. She previously was the athletic director at Brookville Area High School. Smoose has more than 25 years of coaching experience, 14 of which were as head softball coach at Brookville.

Natalie Armstrong, a 2007 graduate of Ohio University, played four years for the Bobcats and was starting pitcher her junior and senior years. Armstrong has been a Division I Athletic Scholarship recipient during the 2004, 2005, and 2006 seasons. She is a graduate assistant at Clarion University and assistant softball coach.
