The Clarion Way Camp The Clarion Way Camp is commonly regarded as the best fundamental skills camp in the country. This camp is designed for wrestlers who want an all-inclusive technique experience, proper diet, successful conditioning, and positive mental attitude. One week in this camp leaves no doubt as to what it takes to be successful, not only in wrestling but in life as well. The Clarion Way Camp is geared for 12- to 18-year-old wrestlers. Limited to 100 wrestlers.
Team Camp Clarion (Junior &
Senior High Divisions) NEW in 2004! Similar to the senior
high camp, a junior high division has been added to Team Camp. The
two camps will work independently of each other with training and
technique geared specifically to each. The team concept is designed
for experienced wrestlers who desire a camp where competition is a
Team camp format allows each wrestler to be assigned to a team composed of 12 to 14 weight divisions. Each team has an adult coach as team leader and the teams compete against each other during the week. After each bout, the performance of both wrestlers is critiqued by our trained staff. An individual tournament caps off the week with team and individual awards presented on Thursday. Back by popular demand is the 10-event Ironman competition. Two one-hour technique sessions are offered daily. Apply early—limited to 120 junior high and 120 senior high wrestlers.
Clarion Youth Camp is specially geared for the young wrestler (ages 9-12). We spend six hours each day developing the basic skills and fundamentals needed to bridge the gap between a beginner and a more experienced wrestler. Youth Camp runs simultaneously with the other camps but has its own staff and operates independently. The camp was started after repeated requests and is one of the few in the country offering a week of training in a small town, small campus atmosphere. Apply early—limited to 50 wrestlers. Clarion Elite Camp (Grades
10-12) Designed for the state qualifier or state placer who is looking to take it to the next level. Emphasis will be on technique, strategy, training, and video analysis, all in an effort to gain the physical and mental edge over your competition. We expect a great response to the Clarion Elite Camp! Competition will be top notch, featuring the best of the best. Most days will involve eight hours of extensive work. This camp brings the shared experience of wrestling to fathers and sons by providing quality time together on the mats. The wrestling technique focuses on fundamental takedowns, pinning, escapes, and defense. The $200 cost includes free camp T-shirts and meals/housing for both father and son. Registration is Friday morning with three sessions Friday, three Saturday, and one Sunday. Camp concludes at noon on Sunday. The Father/Son camp begins its fifth summer. Everyone involved has a fantastic time, and this should prove to be another great experience for young wrestlers. Limited to 90 wrestlers.
Wrestling Camp Acceptance You may apply as soon as you receive your application, and it is important to your acceptance that you apply at an early date. Due to the national tournament and recruiting commitments, we will not reply to your early registration until the first of April. Medical Facilities In case of an emergency, the medical facilities of Clarion Hospital are within three miles of the university campus. Clarion University sports medical staff will be present at all camp sessions. Answers to popular questions
The Clarion Team Camps are held in an air-conditioned, state-of-the-art facility. The Student Recreation Center, adjacent to Tippin Gymnasium, features an indoor track and weight room. The spacious recreation center allows for more comfort during practice and provides more mat area.
