What is the Making Connections Program?

The Making Connections Program helps you to make the most of your first years at Clarion University. As part of a learning community of students and professors, you will take classes in a "cluster" of three courses or a "link" of two courses, all with a common interdisciplinary theme. You will explore that theme in each course, through coordinated readings, assignments, field trips and social activities. Most Making Connections students find that taking a "cluster" or a "link" helps them to get off to a good start at Clarion University.

The Making Connections Program can help you to:

  • make a smooth transition to college life.
  • get involved in learning by making connections between your classes.
  • share the excitement of learning in a community of students, faculty and staff who want you to succeed.
  • get to know your professors.
  • take the time to learn, and develop good study skills and habits.
  • develop a positive attitude toward learning in your first year at Clarion.
  • make the connection between the classroom and the colorful world around you.
  • stay in college.
