Short Story Fiction

Short Story Fiction is a unique style of writing that tends to be more concise than a novel, with its origins dating back to oral-story telling traditions. The short story has evolved into a literary genre. I researched the individual styles of three of my favorite short story authors: James Joyce, Kate Chopin, and Flannery O’Conner as I studied a collection of each of their essays. With this research I will write a comparative essay of my own short story fiction writing style incorporating the influence of these writers and desires for my writing career. Included will be samples of my own short stories.

Jessica Bonk is from Pittsburgh, Pa. She has a major in English with a concentration in writing.  She will receive a Bachelor of Arts degree.  Her career plans are to write a novel for publication.
