HONORS COURSES

HON 128: Modes of Discourse (Fall)
This interdisciplinary course integrates the student's production of both written and spoken discourse. An alternative method of teaching communication, Modes draws upon the skills of instructors from the English and Speech Communication Departments. (replaces SC 113)

HON 129: Modes of Discourse (Spring)
This course is a continuation of HON128: Modes of Discourse. (replaces ENG 111)

HON 130: Special Topics: Arts & Humanities (Spring)
An interdisciplinary course in the humanities, this course focuses on human values, beliefs, and accomplishments as expressed in art, music, literature, philosophy, and/or religion.

HON 230: Special Topics: Science/Mathematics (Fall)
An interdisciplinary course in the natural sciences and/or mathematics, this course focuses on basic principles in the natural sciences and/or mathematics and their development within the context of human civilization.

HON 240: Special Topics: Social Sciences (Spring)
An interdisciplinary course in the social sciences, this course focuses on human civilization from the perspective of the social scientist.

HON 350: Junior Seminar
An interdisciplinary seminar foundational to the development of the Senior Project and career planning.  It it crucial in bridging the Honors sequence with the final project as it develops presentation and portfolio skills while requiring students to develop a prospectus for their senior project and linking with a faculty mentor.

HON 450: Senior Presentation
A scholarly project of an interdisciplinary nature including the student's major area of study which requires a public presentation.
