>Undecided?

>You have probably heard over and over the question: "So, what's your major?" As an undecided student this question can become extremely frustrating and make you feel like you are the only one without a major.  The good news is that you are not alone. About 20% to 50% of all freshmen who enter college are undecided. The reality is that those with a major are likely to change their major 2 to 3 times before finally sticking with a major. So being undecided allows you to be honest with yourself and lets you explore the programs available at Clarion University before choosing a major.   The key to success as an undecided student is to take advantage of the resources, like the Advising Center and your academic advisor, on campus so you can chose a major in a timely matter.

>Concerned about being undecided? Clarion University's own Dr. John Ernissee has written a short essay on the benefits of being undecided as you enter college.  Click here to view the essay.

>Want to explore the programs, majors and minors that Clarion offers? The Office of the Registrar has compiled a full listing of academic programs offered by Clarion.  Need more help?  Stop in, call or email University Advising!  Click here to view a full listing of academic programs.

>In connection with Clarion University's office of Counseling Services, University Advising offers to all students the e-Discover program.  e-Discover is a computer software that offers career guidance and information about hundreds of occupations. Through questions, e-Discover helps you identify your occupational interests, values, and abilities.  If you are undecided or unsure of what you want do, this program can be a great starting place for exploration. Call 814-393-2255 to get an e-Discover user name and password and also to talk about your results!  Click on either link for office of Counseling Services or e-Discover.
