| Objectives |

L.E.A.P. is designed to admit selected high school students to Clarion University
on a part-time or full-time basis for summer, fall and/or spring.
Objectives are as follows:
- To provide able high school students with an
opportunity for course work of a greater scope and depth than is offered by
their high school courses.
- To present selected students with an opportunity to
experience college work prior to graduation from high school.

| Admission Criteria |
The following criteria determine admission of high school
students to L.E.A.P. at Clarion University:
- Completion of the freshman year in high school.
- Completion of a college entrance examination. The
student may take either the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) or the American
College Test (ACT).*

Completion of the L.E.A.P. application.
- Recommendation to the Dean of Enrollment Management by the
student's guidance counselor and high school principal ( a joint letter is acceptable). These letters
should address motivation, interest, academic ability, and social maturity of
the applicant.
- Produce transcripts that show enrollment in the academic
or college preparatory program in high school while achieving a minimum of two
of the following:
- 3.25 cumulative grade point average (or 87 percent)
- Top 20 percent of the class.
- SAT of 1050 or above or ACT of 23 or above.
- Written parental consent.
- The Dean of Enrollment Management may arrange for an
interview with the applicant and parents. The final decision rests with
the Dean of Enrollment Management.
*Students who meet the class rank and grade-point
average requirements may complete and submit SAT/ACT scores in the first
semester of university enrollment. |
| Credits |
- All students that are accepted and enrolled will receive
full course credits and are subject to the same rules, regulations, and benefits
as any other student at Clarion University.
- Students may enroll in traditional on-campus
classes or web-based courses.

| Costs
and Scholarships |

Funding exists to reduce the
cost of a three-credit hour course to $225 for students meeting
program requirements.
