The Public Safety Department offers an escort service at the Clarion campus to enhance students’ feeling of safety while walking alone at night on campus. This service is intended to promote feelings of safety by providing an alternative to members of the university community who otherwise would have to walk alone during hours of darkness.

• The escort service is limited to university property only. This service will be provided only to lone individuals requesting the service, including students, employees and visitors.
• The hours of operation will be from dusk to dawn, seven days a week. Requests for daytime escorts will be considered if the requestor has specifically articulated reasons to be fearful for his/her safety due to a past or ongoing incident.
• Student officers will conduct the escorts. If student officers are not available, security officers or police officers will conduct the escorts.
• The escort service is intended to be a walking escort. Police officers or security officers may use patrol vehicles to complete escorts if the officer deems that the use of patrol unit is appropriate.
