Student Officer Job Description

Student Officer duties include foot patrol of campus, assisting the police officers in building security. Another duty is that of manning the front desk of the Public Safety Office. This involves telephone skills in receiving complaints and radio usage skills in dispatching officers to incidents. It also requires computer skills to record complaints and associated information. Hours are usually 4PM to 12 Midnight shift and 12 Midnight to 8AM with most dispatching being done on the weekends at which time there is 8AM to 4PM shifts available.

Position does require background check and eligibility for work-study programs.
