MINUTES

 

April 15, 2004

I.                    Approval of Minutes – March 18, 2004

 

1.   The minutes were approved as submitted.

 

II.         Old Business

 

1.      External Ornamentation

 

·             A draft policy is being worked on.

 

2.   Reinhard Villages

 

·     Construction continues on scheduled for the August opening. 

·     The committee will tour the project at a later date.

  

3.  Venango Projects

 

·           Residence hall project underway.

 

4.   Key 93 Update

 

·     Project bids are coming in below estimate.

·     Becker, Stevens and Central Services roof replacement have been approved by trustees and contracts are being processed.  Stevens should start at the end of the semester. 

·     Moore Hall retaining wall design is complete and should be bid soon. 

·     Replacement of the generator in Frame Hall will be bid by end of summer.

·     Projects for next year should be in design by the end of this summer and bid by end of the calendar year.

 

5.      Ralston Hall Renovations

 

·              Renovation of building should be completed by end of July.

 

6.   Alumni/Advancement Building

 

·           The contracts have all been received and the notice to proceed has been issued.

 

7.       Master Plan

 

·           The draft will receive further review by PEC

·           President Grunenwald forwarded his thanks to the committee for their work.

 

III.       New Business

           

            1.   Marwick-Boyd

 

·         This building is included in the 2005-2006 Capital Request.   This building is not the same as Peirce since it is structurally sound.

 

·           Stevens  -  with increasing enrollment needs to move to other building

 

2.      Jim Creedon, DGS

 

·           The Honorable James Creedon was introduced as the new Deputy Director of the Department of General Services.  He discussed the new process for delegation of   projects to the universities.

 

3.      Trustees Facilities Tour

 

·        Scheduling the tour prior to May 13 trustees meeting was discussed.  Subsequent to the meeting it was determined that the tour would occur prior to the July trustees meeting.

 

IV.      The next meeting is scheduled for May 20 at 3:30 p.m.
