EOP/ACT 101
Going to Outer Space

The director has formed an EOP/ACT 101 Research Committee to develop a scientific research project to be taken to outer space in an upcoming Space Shuttle mission.

The EOP/ACT 101 Research Committee is in the process of forming a partnership with NASA and link to their GAS (Get Away Special) Can science experiment program.  Students design and develop research projects that are loaded inside the Space Shuttle and flown to outer space.  The GAS Can projects must be self operated and after the Shuttle returns to Earth, the projects are returned to the individual educational institutions to be evaluated.

In the spring of 2001, the EOP/ACT 101 Research Committee tentatively plans to study the effect of the lack of gravity would have on stuttering and voice tonation in outer space as it relates to special education.
