WELCOME

Dear Prospective Students, Current Students, Parents, Faculty, and Staff:

As President of Clarion University of Pennsylvania, I would like to personally extend my heartfelt greetings. I am proud to serve our University Community and contribute to its tradition of excellence.

Clarion University of Pennsylvania is a State System of Higher Education institution. Founded in 1867, Clarion University is a nationally accredited educational institution offering degrees in the fields of education, liberal arts, business, and science. Clarion University is located in the Borough of Clarion, Clarion County, Pennsylvania. In the heart of Western Pennsylvania, Clarion is approximately two hours northeast of Pittsburgh and two hours southeast of Erie. In addition to the close proximity to metropolitan areas, Clarion is located near numerous outdoor recreation areas including the Clarion River and Allegheny National Forest.

Currently, I am chairing a team of senior management (the Academic Deans and the Vice Presidents) to provide interim leadership for the Division of Academic Affairs. The Provost and Academic Vice President, for whom a search is now in process, provides stable leadership for the Division of Academic Affairs. The Provost and Academic Vice President supervises academic programs and support units, faculty employment, academic policies and budgets, and strategic planning. The Provost also oversees the daily management of the institution and support special initiatives. Working closely with the President, Administration, Faculty, Staff, and Students, the Provost helps to ensure fulfillment of the University's mission.
