Student Organizations

Golden Eagle Marching Band

The GEMB is comprised of students from all colleges of the university, and membership is open to full-time students in all class levels from freshman to graduate. The Band—the largest student organization on campus—is traditionally 90 strong, but numbers vary annually depending on the quality of prospective members. The GEMB includes Color Guard and majorettes, and a golden girl (feature majorette) that are chosen by audition. All members must register for the class.

Jazz Band

The Jazz Ensemble is designed for wind, percussion, and rhythm section musicians to study: New and standard repertoire for jazz ensembles including small ensembles (Jazz Combo) to full-ensemble, composers, rehearsing and teaching techniques, conducting, and methods books. The organization also provides entertainment for the university and Clarion area community once a semester.

Symphony Orchestra

Symphony Orchestra is a group consisting of the Clarion University community, including students, faculty, and residents of the surrounding area.  The group is dedicated to the quality performance of standard orchestral repertoire and to the professional and artistic growth of its members.  Symphony Orchestra works collaboratively with other departments and presents one concert per semester on campus.
