Western PA Education Job Fair

About:  This job fair welcomes recruiters from educational facilities and graduate schools nationwide to meet and interview graduating seniors, graduate students, and alumni who are seeking positions in the field of education including teaching, coaching, speech pathology audiology, library science, information systems, physical therapy, occupational therapy, school nursing and school counseling.  

The fair offers recruiters an opportunity to speak informally with candidates, distribute recruitment literature, and conduct optional individual screening interviews with students from PASSHE and other western PA colleges and universities.  Graduate Schools and vendors are also invited to attend this event to staff information tables from 10:00 a.m - 2:00 p.m.  Virtual participation can be accommodated upon request.

Career Fair:  Recruiters from participating organizations will be present from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. in Gemmell to meet with students and alumni.

Optional Interviews:  Only Seniors and Alumni may attend and request screening interviews at the Meet & Greet from 9:15 - 10:15.  Optional interviews will be held from 10:30 - 3:30.  Virtual participation can be accommodated upon request.

Sponsors:  This event is co-sponsored annually by the career centers at these PASSHE institutions located in western Pennsylvania: Clarion, Edinboro, and Indiana.  The event is graciously supported by Teach Where You Travel which provided tote bags for the first 100 pre-registered candidates.

Preregistration for PASSHE Universities: Bloomsburg, CalU, Cheyney, Clarion, East Stroudsburg, Edinboro, Kutztown, IUP, Lock Haven, Mansfield, Millersville, Shippensburg, Slippery Rock, West Chester.

    • The event fee is waived for students and alumni from the PASSHE Universities.

    • DEADLINE EXTENDED!  Pre-register by May 5, 2014 at 9:00 a.m.. to receive a pre-made name tag, a tote bag compliments of Teach Where You Travel (for the first 100), a hard copy career fair directory, and a parking permit sent by email.

    • Walk-ins are welcome the day of the event. Walk-ins candidates can obtain permits at Public Safety, Thorne St or feed the meters along Wilson Ave or in the pay lots.

Preregistration for Non-PASSHE Universities:

    • This event fee is $10.00 for candidates from non-PASSHE Universities.  Cash only.  ATM machine in the building on the first floor.

    • You must present a resume showing that you current attend or graduated from a post high school institution.

    • Resumes:  ALL candidates who want to interview are required to have resumes at the event.  Review the participating organizations and bring the number of resumes equivalent to the number of employer tables you plan to visit.

    • Attire:  Professional interview attire is strongly encouraged.

    • Guests:  Only candidates seeking employment will be allowed into the employer area. Guests must remain in the lobby.

Event Hours: 
   Employer Check-in:  8:15 - 8:45 a.m.  
   Meet & Greet/Interview Sign-up will be held from 9:15 - 10:15 a.m. during which you can schedule interviews.
   Optional Interviews will be held from 10:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. at your booth or in the interview area.
   Career Fair Only: You can staff your booth from 9:15 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
   Hospitality:  Morning coffee service and a buffet lunch ticket will be provided for each registered recruiter.

  Early Bird Registration - deadline April 17, 2014:
        $50.00 for one recruiter, $25.00 for each additional recruiter. Includes: One table, a chair for each registered recruiter, a listing in the online directory and the printed directory that is distributed to students at the fair, morning coffee service and a buffet lunch for each recruiter.

  Regular Registration - deadline April 24, 2014:
      $75.00 for one recruiter, $25.00 for each additional recruiter. Includes: One table, a chair for each registered recruiter, a listing in the online directory and the printed directory that is distributed to students at the fair (if registration is received at least three weeks prior to the event), morning coffee service and a buffet lunch for each recruiter.

  Late Registration - after April 24, 2014:
      $100.00 for one recruiter, $25.00 for each additional recruiter. Includes: One table, a chair for each registered recruiter, a listing in the online directory, morning coffee service and a buffet lunch for each recruiter.

Facilities

  • This event is located in the Multi-purpose Room on the second floor of the Gemmell Student Complex.

  • One table, tablecloth and two chairs will be provided.

  • You may place a banner or display on or behind your table (6' x 3').

  • Signs are not permitted to be taped or tacked to walls.

  • Wireless Internet service is available. However, you must provide your own laptop and wireless card.

  • A limited number of electrical outlets will be made available on a first registered, first served basis.

  • Organizations must supply their own audio/visual equipment and extension cords.

Unloading Materials and Employer Parking

  • NEW PARKING LOCATION!   Commuter Lot 16, Payne Street, Clarion, PA, 16214
    Student volunteers may be available at this parking area one hour before the event to help recruiters transport materials to and from the venue. Your e-parking permit will be sent electronically prior to the event.

  • If you chose to park on campus at a metered space along Wilson Avenue or on campus, you will need to feed the meter. Parking tickets will be the responsibility of the recruiter.

How to Find Us

 

 

The Career Services Center is located in 114 Egbert Hall.  Egbert Hall is located "up the hill" on Page St. 

From 8th Ave, turn onto Wood St.
Proceed to the stop sign at Wood St. and Arnold Ave.
Go forward 1/10 mile and make a right turn onto Page St (no street sign - Admissions Office will be on your left, Page St on your right). 
Proceed "up the hill" on Page St to Parking Lot E.  
If there is parking space in Lot E, park your vehicle and proceed to office for a parking permit.
If there is not a parking space in Lot E, park next to the Blue and Gold chains, put on flashers and proceed in side to obtain a parking permit.

The  first floor, back entrance of Egbert Hall can be accessed from parking lot E. 
The Career Services Center is located on the first floor in room 114. 

If parking Lot E is full, lot 9 on Wood St. is the closest alternative.

Parking permits on not valid in metered or handicapped spaces.  If you park at a meter, you are responsible for payment.
