VIRTUAL EVENT

The Professional Development Virtual Conference (PDVC) covers core professional development information and skills that you need when searching, securing, and entering the job/internship market or applying to a graduate program.
It is open to all majors and students, freshmen through graduate students, as well as alumni. Presenters will cover a variety of topics that can easily translate into any profession.

Event Information

LIVE SESSIONS:  PDVC will be held on Monday-Thursday, September 20-23, 2021.  Two unique, no repeating, live Zoom sessions will be offered each day, at 3 pm, 4 pm, or 5 pm EST. Sessions will be no longer than 30 minutes in length (this includes a brief Q&A). 

RECORDED SESSIONS:  If you cannot attend the live session, each session will be recorded and made available in the Professional Development Series online to pre-registered participants.

The series of interactive sessions will be presented by professionals, business and educational leaders across multiple disciplines and industries and will include:

How do I sign-up?

By August 30, pre-registration will be open for all sessions via your Handshake account (Events tab - select Join Event).  Pre-register by September 20 to be entered into a drawing for prizes!

  • Pre-registration ends at 2 pm on the day of the session. 
  • Each zoom room will be locked 5 minutes after the session begins.
  • After pre-registering, your Handshake account (Events page) will display receipt of your registration.
  • If your plans change and you cannot attend, information will be sent only to pre-registered participants with details on how to access the session recordings.

Attendance recognition

The Center for Career and Professional Development will verify attendance to workshops that are required by faculty or for extra credit within one week after the event.

Attendance at these sessions meets some Clarion University digital badge requirements. Badges will be distributed within two weeks after the live event closes.  Also, participants may supplement workshops through CUprofessional, and acquiring a badge makes you mentee eligible for the CUmentor program.


Is there a dress requirement

Even though this is a virtual event, you still should present yourself professionallyThe presenter could be your future internship or job supervisor!  Business casual is recommended.
