FreewritingFreewriting is writing down everything that you think of, without taking the time to censor your thoughts. Don't stop to decide if ideas are good. Just write them down! Don't worry about spelling or grammar. Don't review what you've written until you're finished. Don't cross anything out Focused Freewriting- involves beginning with a topic. Your original topic could be an assignment, a piece of literature, or a quotation. Blind Freewriting- involves word processing. If you're using a computer for freewriting, try typing with a blackened screen. Your urge to edit sentences or ideas may be suppressed if your writing isn't visible to you. |
