American Chemical Society

Works Cited Page

The American Chemical Society (ACS) style guidelines listed below illustrate the format used for citing reference information in the Chemical Sciences fields. The Chemical Sciences fields include Agricultural, Food, Medical, Organic, Inorganic, Physical, and Engineering Chemistries.

Compiling the Bibliography:

When compiling the Bibliography page, be sure to list references in the order of their appearance in your text. This differs from MLA and APA formats where references are cited in alphabetical order.

Note: Subsequent lines of reference material are aligned with the first row of information (i.e. Author (s). title, etc.). This differs from MLA and APA formats where successive information is tabulated inward five (5) spaces following the first line of documented information.
