Mission
Student Affairs promotes student
learning and development by providing high quality programs and services that
enhance the educational experience and prepare students to be
contributing members of the local community and global society.
Vision
We envision a community where all students are encouraged to explore their hopes
and dreams and to achieve their full potential through participation in
collaborative, innovative, and outcome-oriented programs and services exemplifying best practice and positive community partnerships.
Services
Student Affairs offers
a variety of services that help students achieve personal, academic, and vocational goals. These services include:
Housing
Opened in August 2004, the
student apartments at the Venango Campus provide students the opportunity
to take full advantage of the Venango Campus experience! These stylish
accommodations are fully furnished and include all appliances (washers and
dryers, too!). For more information and an application,

Learning Support
Center
The Learning Support
Center offers a lot of what you need to succeed! The LSC is committed to
empowering students to become lifelong learners and will help you acquire the
essential skills for academic success, including study skills, time management
techniques, and writing proficiency. Programs and services offered through the

Career Center
The Career Center
offers a variety of services to assist students in choosing a college major that
will lead to a rewarding and satisfying career. Services provided by the Career
Center include:

Personal
Counseling
Professional, certified
counselors offer skilled and confidential counseling for developmental,
educational and career goals. Counseling sessions create an opportunity to
address concerns about personal, social and emotional growth to enhance a
successful university experience.
Child Care
The Oil City YMCA
Younger Days Child Care center offers child care and pr-school services in
Montgomery Hall. Services are
available Monday thru Friday on an hourly, weekly, or part time basis, serving
children from infants of six weeks old to twelve years old.
Student Life on
Campus
Participating in clubs,
organizations, and events is an important part of the student experience.
Active, positive involvement in the campus life creates a supportive learning
environment that encourages leadership and community involvement. Opportunities
for involvement include:
Discovery
The two day
program in August helps students become more familiar with University services,
and provides helpful information for students and families making the
transition to collegiate life. Discovery is one component of the
Transitions program.
Student Senate
Student Senate is the
governing body for student life on campus and is responsible for representing
the student body and managing the Student Activity Fee. Senators represent the
Venango campus on the Clarion Student Association Board and serve on a number of
campus committees.
Campus Activities Board
The Campus Activities
Board (CAB) plans social, recreational, and cultural programs offered to the entire
campus community. These programs include dances, plays, trips, and family
oriented events.
Athletics and
Recreation
Students can
participate on campus in informal games of basketball, volleyball, and
billiards, as well as bowling, golf, and fitness at local venues. Students can
also participate in aerobic and yoga classes offered on campus through the Oil
City YMCA. Bicycles are also available to be signed out free of charge.
Clubs and
Organizations
In addition to the many services provided, students enjoy various
student-run clubs and organizations. These organizations
help students become socialized to college life and learn valuable skills
and knowledge to compete in a competitive job market. Athletic and social
events also make up a student's list of opportunities.
