Clarion University–Venango Campus Students
Featured in Hardwood Industry Publication
Clarion University–Venango Campus students Frank and Justin Rodgers were
featured in the March, 2006 issue of “Hardwood Matters”, the monthly
publication of the National Hardwood Lumber Association in Memphis, Tennessee.
The father and son from Henry’s
Bend are pursuing Associate of Applied Science in Industrial Technology
degrees at the Venango Campus. Having completed the general education and
business courses at the campus, they are now working on the technical
component of their education at the National Lumber Association. Following
graduation, they will accept positions with local industry as hardwood lumber
inspectors.
Professor Vic Bowser, Chair of the
Department of Applied Technology, recently visited NHLA.
“I was pleased to find Justin Rodgers
currently leading his class and striving to be the honor graduate,” said
Bowser.
The National Hardwood Lumber
Association is one of six technical education partners that collaborate with
Clarion University’s Department of Applied Technology to provide an associate
degree in industrial technology. Since its inception in 2003, the department
has expanded to include twenty-five industrial concentrations of study. In
addition, it recently introduced a new Associate of Applied Science in
Administration Technology, with concentrations in banking, insurance, and
office operations.
Clarion University-Venango
Campus, located in Oil City, PA, is the oldest regional campus in
Pennsylvania’s State System of Higher Education. The campus provides
high-quality educational programs and personalized services to help students
succeed. Students can earn an associate degree, a bachelor’s or master’s
