INTERNATIONAL HUMANITARIAN DANCERS

TO PERFORM AT CLARION UNIVERSITY-VENANGO CAMPUS

OIL CITY, PA-The Clarion University-Venango Campus Activities Board will host a performance by ArcheDream on Friday, February 4, at 7 PM in the auditorium of the Robert W. Rhoades Student Center. The performance is free and open to the public.

ArcheDream founded the HUMANKIND Roadshow, an entertainment-based educational tool designed to help de-stigmatize HIV/AIDS, provide HIV/AIDS education to youth and adults, and raise the morale of victims and families who are coping with the epidemic.  The eight-member interpretive dance group is returning to the campus after a very popular performance last year.

“We’re thrilled to be able to bring back this unique and talented group for our students and the community,” said Dr. Christopher M. Reber, executive dean of the campus, “and honored to help bring attention to the noble work they do.”

This year’s performance will be a black-light dance entitled "The Poet's Dream," a 75-minute dance drama written by Alan Bell, with music by Alexander Mitnick. The production deals with the issues of doubt and pessimism as one strives for uniqueness in a world of Love, War, Wisdom and Confusion.

ArcheDream is currently planning an African Tour with the help of Stellar Mhango of COLIN Volunteers, based in South Africa. The purpose of this tour is to bring Alan Bell's creation back to his homeland and to meet with groups that have pledged their support to HUMANKIND.
