TONYA J. THOMPSON NAMED COORDINATOR OF CAREER SERVICES AT CLARION
UNIVERSITY-VENANGO CAMPUS

Clarion University-Venango
Campus has named Tonya J. Thompson Coordinator of Career Services. In her
new position, Ms. Thompson is responsible for a comprehensive career
services program serving current and prospective students, alumni,
employers and other community members. She came to Venango Campus from St.
Bonaventure University where she was Assistant Director of Residence Life.
“Tonya Thompson is
an excellent addition to our team,” said Dr. Christopher M. Reber,
executive dean of Clarion University–Venango Campus. “She brings
outstanding knowledge and experience in student affairs and career
development to our campus and community.”
A Clarion University alumna with a bachelor
of science degree in communication, Ms. Thompson cites her undergraduate
experience as the reason for her own career choice.
"My experience at
Clarion University is the reason I pursued student affairs as my career,”
she said. “There were several faculty and staff members who were mentors
to me throughout my college experience. Through my position, I hope to
give back a little of what I received to Clarion University-Venango
Campus students. I'm very grateful to have the opportunity to serve the
university and our students."
Ms. Thompson earned
her master of arts degree in student affairs in higher education from
Indiana University of Pennsylvania, while serving as a graduate assistant
in the office of student affairs at the University of Pittsburgh at
Bradford.
Clarion
University–Venango Campus provides high-quality educational programs and
