Clarion University–Venango Campus Hires Debra
Sobina
As Director of Finance and Administration
OIL CITY, PA – Clarion
University–Venango Campus has hired Debra D. Sobina as Director of Finance and
Administration. A lifelong resident of Northwestern Pennsylvania, Sobina brings
more than 20 years of financial management experience to the position. Her
responsibilities include oversight of the campus’ financial operations, physical
plant and administrative services.
“Deb Sobina is a tremendous addition to our team,” said Dr.
Christopher M. Reber, executive dean of Clarion University–Venango Campus. “In
addition to her outstanding professional qualifications, she devotes a great
deal of personal time to help local community organizations, which aligns
closely with our mission as an institution committed to serving the needs of
this region.”
Sobina serves on the board of the Oil City Area
Chamber of Commerce, is past president of the
Oil City
chapter of Rotary International and has chaired the Oil Heritage Festival parade
committee for a number of years. She also serves on the boards of the Oil Region
Enterprise Zone, the Oil City Housing and Parking Authorities, the Oil City
Streetscape Committee and the Oil City Community Development Corporation. She
has served as an instructor for the American Institute of Banking and for Junior
Achievement.
“I’m thrilled to be part of the exciting growth
that is taking place at Venango Campus,” said Sobina, who holds a bachelor’s
degree in economics and a master of business administration degree from
Clarion University. “I’m working
with university administrators to maximize available resources and to create an
atmosphere that optimizes satisfaction for students, faculty and staff.”
Sobina resides in
Oil City
with her husband, Chris, and three daughters. In 2001, Sobina was recognized by
the Oil City Area Chamber of Commerce as Citizen of the Year.
Clarion University–Venango
Campus provides high-quality educational programs and personalized services to

master’s degree in select areas, obtain a one-year certificate or participate in
