Student Has Poems Published
OIL CITY, PA – Peggy Ellen Lee, a long-time Oil
City resident who is working on her bachelor’s degree in rehabilitative sciences
at Clarion University–Venango Campus, has had three poems published recently in
national poetry venues. “Unattractive Girl,” “Love of My Life” and “If Emily
(Dickinson) Had Had a Laptop" were published on Poetry.com and will be published
in Eternal Portraits, a collection of poetry due out later this summer.
In addition, the poems were selected as semi-finalists in the International Open
Poetry Contest sponsored by the International Library of Poetry.
“Poetry is my way of journaling my odyssey through
life,” said Lee. “It’s an outlet for my thoughts and feelings and I’m really
honored that my poems were selected to be published.”
Lee works for the Venango Training and Development
Center in Seneca as an employment training specialist. She also serves at a
tutor at Venango Campus’ Learning Support Center during the academic year.
