Recent Venango Campus Graduate Spends Summer Working
in China
OIL CITY, PA–Anthony Galla, a recent graduate of the
nursing program at Clarion University–Venango Campus, will spend two
months teaching English and working as a camp counselor in Tianjin, China,
as part of a program sponsored by the American Chinese Exchange Society
(ACES).
ACES is an American company, based in North
Carolina, which seeks business and social opportunities to broaden avenues
of exchange through language instruction to all age groups,
teacher/student exchange, professional training programs, school programs
and exchanges, and business consulting. In addition, ACES Management will
work to provide forums for exchange for its teachers, staff, and clients,
whether in China, America, Canada, or elsewhere.
While at Venango Campus, Galla served as
president of Student Senate, as a member of Nursing Club, and as a
Discovery Leader in the campus’ orientation programs. Galla will return
just in time to begin studies toward his bachelor of nursing degree,
offered on-line through the university’s School of Nursing and Allied
Health, and his bachelor of science in philosophy degree. He is the son
of Maria and Larry Galla of Oil City.
