Clarion University–Venango Campus Hosts Old-Fashioned Sock Hop
OIL CITY, PA – The Dubble Bubble Band
will deliver their unique blend of humor, good-time rock & roll, newer popular
songs and oldies at Clarion University–Venango Campus on Saturday, April 26. The
band will perform in the Rhoades Center from 6:00-11:00 pm and the event is open
to the public. The “price” of admission is a donation of a non-perishable food
item or household paper product that will be given to the Salvation Army.
“The Dubble Bubble Band is already a
favorite in the area because they play a mix of music that appeals to people of
all ages,” said Dr. Christopher M. Reber, executive dean of Venango Campus. “We
invite all members of the community to join our faculty, staff and students for
what is sure to be a fun evening.”
The Dubble Bubble Band began their
career with a performance at last summer's "I Love Clarion" celebration at the
Clarion University Stadium and they haven't stopped since. The band is composed
of four members of Clarion University's faculty and staff and a drummer who
really delivers the hits and dance tunes to get the whole family involved. And,
true to the code of an old-fashioned sock hop, no shoes will be allowed.
