Clarion University–Venango Campus Names
Tenure Track Nursing Faculty
Professor Lana J. Smith has been appointed to a tenure track faculty
position in the Department of Nursing at Clarion University–Venango Campus.
Ms. Smith previously served on a part-time basis on the Clarion nursing
faculty before a brief stint at Indiana University.
Professor Smith earned her bachelor’s degree in nursing from
Edinboro University of Pennsylvania. She earned her master’s degree in
nursing at LaRoche College, where she focused on family practice and became
a certified nurse practitioner. Ms. Smith is currently completing a doctoral
program at Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
Professor Smith is a member of the American Academy of Nurse
Practitioners and the American College of Nurse Practitioners.
Professor Smith lives in New Bethlehem where she is an active
volunteer. She serves on the Board of Directors of Women’s Relief Corps (WRC),
the parent corporation of a number of area nursing homes, and chairs its
affiliated Personal Care Board.
Ms. Smith and her husband, Bill, are the parents of Lee Ann,
Holly, Andrew, Patty, and Joshua. Lee Ann is a student at Clarion
University–Venango Campus and is planning to follow in her mother’s
footsteps.
