Financial Aid for Distance Education
Students who enroll in a program where they take
all of their courses on-line are eligible to use federal financial aid
(Pell and SEOG grants, Stafford Loans) for which they qualify as per
the FAFSA. Since their educational costs are lower they possibly may not receive the maximum grant or loan
amounts. On-line students, for example, receive a reduced amount for room
and board expenses.
Associate and Baccalaureate degree students who enroll
in more than 50% of their courses on-line are not eligible
to use a PHEAA state grant for which they might otherwise qualify.
Masters Degree students are only eligible for Stafford Loans as
their source of financial aid assistance. They are not
eligible for PELL, SEOG, or PHEAA Grants. Distance Education students are subject to the same
financial aid regulations and conditions as any student taking courses on campus.
