THE HARRISBURG INTERNSHIP SEMESTER

Description: The Dixon Center of the State System of Higher Education has sponsored an internship program for outstanding students from the fourteen State System Universities during each semester of the academic year since the fall of 1989. Clarion University has participated in the program since 1991. The program places Clarion University's best students, along with others from the State System, in intern positions with policy makers in the executive and legislative branches of state government, as well as with independent boards, agencies, and commissions. Interns live in Harrisburg in housing arranged by the program, and work in various offices in the Harrisburg area. Eligibility: Each intern must have maintained a minimum 3.0 QPA in at least forty-five undergraduate credit hours earned at the time of application. A student may be chosen from any academic major. A selected student participates in THIS during the junior or senior year of study.

THE WASHINGTON CENTER

Internship placements of high quality are available in the Washington DC area. These include corporations and businesses. These include corporations and businesses, embassies, voluntary organizations and interest groups, cultural and scientific organizations, law and lobbying firms, trade associations and major media headquarters as well as the White House and federal government and congressional offices. www.twc.edu.

Eligibility: Maintain a grade point average of at least 3.0.
