Construction updates are provided below.

Clarion Campus – On-Campus Residences

The end of the project is at hand and the contractors are clearing the new dorms of construction tools and equipment.  A few open items continue to be addressed for the interior.  The project remains on schedule and the Foundation is expected to accept the buildings as substantially complete.  Furniture installation is planned to begin today, with the building ready for occupancy by January 5th, 2009.

With the Foundation acceptance and use of the buildings, this project is complete.

Venango Campus – New Student Residences

Work has begun on two new student residence facilities at Venango Campus.  They’re beginning to place the footers and compact the construction area.

Venango Campus – Venango Pond

The bridge has been installed and the ramp concrete complete. The gazebo should arrive soon, with only the railing remaining to finish the project.

Clarion Campus – South Campus Parking Lot

The parking lot was accepted by the Professional-of-Record as substantially complete, turned over to Clarion University effective December 3rd and became available for use on December 4, 2009.  When the winter weather breaks next spring and the asphalt plants open, the top wear surface will be installed.  Also in the spring the contracted trees/shrubs will be planted and any reseeding will be done.

With the University acceptance and use of the parking lot, this project is complete.

Clarion Campus – Dining Hall - Dining Hall WebCam

Last work is being done on open items, finishes and equipment.  As soon as these are complete, the building will be inspected for University acceptance and final move-in will take place.

Pedestrian/Vehicular traffic and safety:  One-way traffic is still in effect for the roadway between Carrier and the new dining-hall to accommodate move-in of furniture and equipment.  Do not drive east on this roadway and do not walk in this or any other campus roadways.

Clarion Campus – Science-Technology Building

While the Thanksgiving holiday slowed progress a bit, pace is expected to be back to normal this week.  Interior construction in the newly-enclosed building continues on the lab side drywall, prime painting, HVAC (heating, ventilation, air-conditioning), plumbing, and electrical as opportunities and areas become available.  Installation of exterior curtain wall windows also continues as available.
