The general contractor is sealing and weathering in the building. This past week the connection to the university supplied steam, was turned on. The HVAC (mechanical contractor) is currently making adjustments to the equipment which will heat and cool the building. Once the adjustments are complete, the temporary heating will be fully functional, allowing completion of the interior finishes. Work continues ib buffing and finishing the office side concrete floors.

This project is winding down. Outside, the contractors are moving their tools and trailers off campus. The site which once housed the trailers is being restored as each contractor clears the area. Interior work is also winding down as punch-list items developed by the Professional Architect/Engineer are being addressed.

Clarion Campus – South Campus Parking Lot |
|
The asphalt sub-base has been installed as well as several sections of sidewalks. The winter weather continues to tag us with unpredictable weather. While normal for this time of the year, it creates problems with installing the remaining 1 1/2" asphalt top (wear) surface, 40 to 50 degrees needed in order to install the top surface. Due to the temperatures, the top surface installation is being held until next spring/summer though the parking lot will be used during the winter. The parking stalls have been lined out, and parking lot lights installed and operational. After all are complete, and necessary corrections made, the lot can be opened. Barring unforeseen problems, the lot is expected to be operational on December 5th.

Clarion Campus – Dining Hall - Dining Hall WebCam |

Almost all of the equipment is in place and connected. Shown is the seating area after where carpet will soon be laid. The side walks are open now, but for safety reasons, the road way between Carrier and the dining facility will remain closed to two-way traffic until all equipment has been moved in.
Pedestrian/Vehicular traffic and safety: One-way traffic is still in effect for the roadway between Carrier and the new dining-hall and construction equipment is still very active. Do not drive east on this roadway and do not walk in this or any other campus roadways. |
