Clarion University's Career Services Center uses College Central Network's online career management system to help students and alumni connect with employers and their career opportunities.
We highly recommend that Clarion students and alumni establish an online account at www.collegecentral.com/clarion which takes about five minutes.
Why set up an online account and register with College Central Network?
- You let us (and more importantly, employers!) know that you are seeking a summer/seasonal job, an internship, or a full-time employment opportunity.
- You can receive e-mail messages from the Career Services Center staff who target specific majors when we have information about career opportunities and events that may of interest.
What additional benefits does the online system (College Central Network) offer?
After you register, you can:
- Search for full-time, internship, part-time, or summer/seasonal opportunities on the Jobs Database.
- Post your resumé online for employers to view.
- Search for employers conducting on-campus interviews for internships and full-time jobs.
- Receive e-mail messages from the system when positions in your Job Target area (which you select when you register) are posted by an employer.
If you also upload your resumé to your online account, you can:
- Include your resumé in the Clarion University Resumé Database that is accessed by employers targeting Clarion students and alumni for their career opportunities.
- Submit a resumé electronically for any campus interview for which you want to be considered.
- Submit a resumé electronically for any job posting in which you have an interest.
- Manage your online account by tracking your resumé submissions, and view employers who reviewed your resumé.
Who should establish an online account and register?
- Students seeking summer, part-time, or seasonal jobs (outside the Clarion area)
- Students seeking internships
- Students graduating during the current academic year and seeking employment following graduation
- Alumni seeking employment
How do I establish an online account and register?
- Go to http://www.collegecentral.com/clarion Select the Students or Alumni button.
- Complete the online registration form. Registration is free!
When should I register?
- If you're seeking a part-time, summer or seasonal job, or an internship:
We recommend that you register early in the academic year so you don't miss any posted opportunities. - If you're seeking full-time employment after graduation:
We recommend that you register early in your final year so you don't miss any jobs posted by employers throughout the year. - Alumni may register at any time.
Why is College Central Network (CCN) used?
- The Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education partners with College Central Network that enables the 14 SSHE career services offices to provide online services to students, alumni, and employers. Clarion University is part of this collaborative project.
Tips for Using College Central Network
- Post a resumé. Although you can access summer/seasonal, internship, and full-time opportunities after simply registering on CCN, employers tell us that it is frustrating when a student/alumnus does not include a resumé. They want detailed information about your qualifications and most likely will not contact individuals who do not provide it. We highly recommend that you take time to post your resumé if you want to be seriously considered by employers.
- When you update your resumé, be sure to upload the new resumé to your online account.
- Use the appropriate portal to your registration information. When you graduate, the Career Services Center staff "graduates" your registration information on College Central Network. After you graduate, you should access your registration information and resumé through the Alumni icon on CCN, not the Student icon.
- Remember your password. If you can't remember it, you can request it at the log-in page.
- Don't register twice. If you are unsure whether or not you have register or posted a resumé on CCN, give us a call. The Career Services Center can check for you.
If you need help with preparing a resumé, visit our Resumé Clinic in 114 Egbert for these services:

Disclaimer: The Clarion University Career Services Center uses College Central Network as a clearinghouse of information regarding job and experiential education opportunities. The listing of a position should not be interpreted as an endorsement. The Career Services Center is not responsible for safety, wages, working conditions, or other various aspects of employment.
Due to the volume of job announcements posted to the PA State System universities, Clarion University's Career Services Center is unable to research the integrity of each person or organization that lists an internship or job on College Central Network's database. Therefore, students and alumni should personally research openings and organizations prior to submitting a resume to an organization or entering into any employment agreements.
