On October 18, she presented her paper, " Multiple Boundaries, One World," at the English Association of the Pennsylvania State Universities (EAPSU) annual conference at Kutztown University. She also received the Clarion University English Department's Outstanding English Major Award at the conference.

On October 25, she presented her paper, "Live From Clarion University: Martha, the Ghost of Becht Hall," at the American Folklore Society's Annual Meeting in Louisville, Kent. She also chaired the session, "Ghostlore." The Folklore Society's Annual Meeting is international in scope; folklorists from Europe, Asia, and Africa join folklorists from across the United States, Canada, Mexico, and South America to present their research and fieldwork in public and academic folklore.
