Campus Recruiting Days Overview
The Career Fair on October 14th will provide you with an opportunity to:
- promote your organization to all students (freshmen - seniors) and alumni seeking full-time jobs or internships
- speak informally with pre-selected candidates, and
- screen additional walk-in candidates for the individual interviews session.
The Individual Interviews Day on October 15th provides organizations which can conduct on-campus interviews with an opportunity to interview pre-selected students/alumni for internships and full-time jobs.
Organizations have the option of participating in the Career Fair only, Individual Interviews only, or both events.

Unloading Materials and Parking
- Parking information will be provided to registered recruiters by e-mail prior to the event.
- If you bring more than one recruiter, we suggest one recruiter unload and check-in while the other recruiter takes your vehicle to the designated parking area.
- Student volunteers may be available to help recruiters transport materials to the Gemmell Student Center.
- Parking permits are needed between 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
- If you choose to park on campus at a metered space you will need to feed the meter. Parking tickets will be the responsibility of the recruiter.
Event Check-In and Set-Up
Check in for the fair will be located at the Gemmell Student Center, Multi-Purpose Room. Career Fair check-in and display set-up begins at 4:00 p.m. on October 14 and optional Individual Interview check-in opens at 8:30 a.m. in Eagle Commons on October 15.
You will receive an Employer Packet that includes:
- Welcome Letter
- Name tag (for each recruiter indicated on the online registration form)
- Employer Directory
- Interview Schedule of pre-selected candidates (if applicable)
- Request to Schedule On-site Interview Form (if applicable)
Evaluation Form - Campus Map
- Copy of your on-line registration form
- Copy of your on-line job posting (if applicable)
Facilities
- The Career Fair is located in the Gemmell Student Center, Multi-Purpose Room and optional interviews in Eagle Commons.
- One 3x6' table and chairs will be provided for the career fair
- One 3x6' table will be provided for each recruiter conducting an interviewing session.
- Signs are not permitted to be taped or tacked to the walls of the room.
- You may place a banner or display on your table.
- Wireless internet access will be provided.
- A limited number of electrical outlets made available on a first registered, first served basis.
- Organizations must supply their own audio/visual equipment and extension cords.
- Blue and Gold plastic table cloths will be provided. Please bring your own if you prefer cloth or a different color.
Hospitality
The Golden Grill Food Court and Caribou Coffee Shop are conveniently located on the first floor of the Gemmell Student Center. Beverage service will be provided for the Career Fair and interviews. Lunch will be provided for recruiters conducting optional interviews on Thursday.
Individual Interviews
These steps are only required of employers who plan to conduct individual interviews from 9:00 a.m.- 3:00 p.m. on October 15.
- Create or repost Job Postings for Individual Interviews by Thursday, September 10, 2009
- Log-in to your On-Line Employer Account at www.collegecentral.com/clarion.
- Select the On-Campus Interviewing link.
- Select Post a New Job or Repost an Expired Job on the Job Postings for On-Campus Recruitment page. Note: Multiple jobs for which you may be interviewing on-campus must be posted as only one job posting on the Job Posting Entry to facilitate interview scheduling if you are bringing only one recruiter.
- After you submit your posting, an on-line schedule will be created by the Career Services Center and added to your On-Campus Interviewing account.
- Review and Respond to Online Resume Submissions by Tuesday, October 6, 2009
- Log-in to your On-Line Employer Account at www.collegecentral.com/clarion.
- Visit the Job Postings for On-Campus Recruitment page frequently to view online resume submissions, accept or reject candidates online, view your schedule, or edit your job posting. Candidates cannot be pre-scheduled for your visit until you have responded online to their submission. Please complete an initial screening of online resume submissions and make your online response (accept, reject or alternate) by Tuesday, October 6, 2009.
- Tip: Maximize your candidate pool by using the Search Student and Alumni Resumes link. You may search resumes and contact candidates directly regarding individual interviews. Inform these candidates to submit their resume to your posting through their CCN account using the Search for On-Campus Recruitment Jobs link to begin the process of pre-scheduling an individual interview.
- Check Interview Schedule
- Interviews will be scheduled on the half hour beginning at 9:00 a.m. through 3:00 p.m on October 15.
- Only the Career Services Center staff can create or modify your interview schedule. Contact Debb Sigworth or Diana Brush to add or delete interview time slots.
- Only one interview schedule will be created per organization unless your request a second interview schedule. You must register a recruiter for each schedule that is built for your organization.
- A lunch break will be built into your schedule and other breaks upon request.
- To View your Interview Schedule, log-in to your On-Line Employer Account at www.collegecentral.com/clarion.
- Visit the Job Postings for On-Campus Recruitment page frequently to view and print your schedule. Candidates cannot be pre-scheduled for your visit until you have responded online to their submission.
- A copy of your schedule will be included in the Employer packet provided upon check-in.
- Procedure for Screening and Adding Walk-in Candidate to your Interview Schedule
- Interview Process
During the Career Fair, students/alumni may approach your table, present their resume, and request an interview appointment; you may accept or deny their request. If you have a free interview time slot and you agree to interview the candidate, you will give the candidate with a Permission to Schedule Interview Form which will be provided to you upon check-in. The candidate must bring this form to the Career Services Center Employer Check-in Table immediately.
Pre-selected and walk-in candidates will be required to check-in at the Interview Check-in table before and after each scheduled interview. Interviews are 25 minutes in length and scheduled on the half hour between 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. Employers must honor the 30-minute interval time slots so that students are not late for back-to-back scheduled interviews. Candidates must exit the Interview area after each interview and check-in at the Candidate Interview Area prior to each round of interviews. The last round of interviews must conclude by 3:00 p.m. unless arrangements are made otherwise.

The Education Job Fair - Wednesday, May 12, 2010 (tentative)
The Education Job Fair offers school districts and employers in the field of education an opportunity to meet one-on-one with Clarion University seniors and alumni who have education degrees and/or certifications. Recruiters will be able to speak informally with candidates, distribute recruitment literature, and conduct individual interviews.
