Server 2008 Infrastructure Configuration
The course begins by examining basic TCP/IP networking concepts. Subsequent chapters are devoted to core Windows Server 2003 networking services, such as Domain Name System (DNS), Windows Internet Naming Service (WINS), and Routing and Remote Access Service (RRAS), and to network security technologies such as digital certificates and the IP security (IPSec) extensions. Server 2008 Active Directory Configuration
This course covers the Active Directory Services environment, including forest and domain structure, Domain Name System (DNS), site topology and replication, organizational unit structure and delegation of administration, Group Policy, and user, group, and computer account strategies. Server 2008 Administrator
This covers the knowledge and skills necessary to install, configure, administer, and support the core services in the Microsoft Windows Server 2008 operating system. Correlates to Microsoft test 70-646
Microsoft Certified IT Professional - Enterprise Administrator
Server 2008 Applications Infrastructure Configuration
The course takes students through the processes and configurations to set up an application server. Time is spent discussing security issues, remote and local access issues, bandwidth considerations and functionality. Correlates to Microsoft test 70-643
Windows Vista Configuration
This course encompasses deploying Windows Vista in a business network environment. Installation, system settings, disk settings, users and groups, security, network connectivity, drivers and performance are included. Coorelates to Microsoft test 70-620.
The first three courses listed above prepare the student to sit for the three exams that comprise the Microsoft Certified IT Professional - Server Administrator certification.
The remaining two courses cover the information asked on the final two certification tests that will earn an individual the title of Microsoft Certified IT Professional - Enterprise Administrator. Note: only four of the five exams listed are needed for Enterprise Administrator - it is not necessary to pass exam 70-646 for the EA certification. Exam 70-646 is required for the Server Administrator Certification.
Passing any of the five exams listed above will earn the successful candidate the Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist certification.
