Philadelphia Location Cheyney Urban Center - The Mellon Independent Center is at 701 Market Street #333, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania 19106 (telephone: 215-560-3891).   Students should enter the building using the 8th Street entrance and park at the Central Parking System at 8th and Market.

Philadelphia Location Philadelphia Free Library Entrance - The Free Library of Philadelphia's Central Library,1901 Vine Street, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania 19103 (telephone 215-686-5322). On Saturdays, students should use the library's Wood Street entrance between 19th and 20th streets. The Free Library is a world-class research facility and is open to the public free of charge. There is a handicapped accessible entrance on Wood Street, which is directly behind the library and runs parallel to Vine Street. Since Wood Street is one-way, you must enter from 19th Street.

Weekend Course Attendance Policy - It is understood that absence from weekend class will occur only in the most severe circumstances. Regardless of the reason for absence, failure to attend a Friday/Saturday class or a Friday/Saturday/Sunday class will bring about an automatic reduction of one's final evaluation by one and one-third letter grade. Missing a Friday or Sunday session will negatively impact a final evaluation by one-third of a letter grade. A Saturday absence brings about a negative factor of one letter grade. There is zero tolerance for circumstances causing a student's absence and there is no appeal option.

In all instances, the faculty member will assist the student in identifying "materials" that were reviewed in one's absence. It is not contingent on the faculty member, however, to conduct what amounts to a tutorial class to compensate for the information missed by the student.
