The Program
The Bachelor of Science in Liberal Studies (Library Science Concentration) degree provides a structure that prepares a student for admission to the Department of Library Science's nationally accredited (American Library Association) Master of Science in Library Science (M.S.L.S.) program. Students who complete this program with a "B" average or better are eligible for admission into the M.S.L.S. program, which is also available fully online.
The concentration in Library Science requires eight courses in library science as part of the minimum 45 credits through Clarion. All of these required courses are available online. (More detailed information about distance education is available through the Distance Education web page.)

Admission Requirements
Admission requirements for this program are the same as those for admission to the university. To earn the degree, the student must have a minimum cumulative quality-point average (QPA) of 2.00 for all course work. Of the 120 credit hours required for the degree, 39 are normally at the 300-level or above.
Students who wish to transfer or who have completed an associate degree program at a regionally accredited community college, college, or university could submit as many as 75 credit hours in transfer toward this degree. A minimum of 45 hours must be completed through Clarion.
